SmileCap Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 28, 2026
1. About this policy
SmileCap is a front-camera photo app made by ZAAMDAA Studio. This policy explains how the app processes camera and face information, saves photos, and handles purchases and support.
2. On-device face and smile analysis
With your camera permission, SmileCap uses Apple's AVFoundation to capture front-camera frames, Vision to count visible faces, and a bundled Google MediaPipe Face Landmarker model to measure face positions, landmarks, and left and right mouth-smile values. These measurements display face markers and smile progress, associate marked people using temporary in-session identifiers, trigger a photo after a stable smile countdown, and check the captured photo before saving. Geometric association is not biometric identification.
Camera frames and face measurements are processed on your iPhone. SmileCap does not upload camera frames, captured photos, facial landmarks, smile scores, or temporary tracking identifiers to ZAAMDAA Studio or Google. Face measurements and identifiers are not saved to files or included in saved photos. SmileCap does not keep biometric identity templates or use face information for identification, advertising, emotional or medical assessment, or model training. There is no retained face-analysis history to delete.
3. Camera images and saved photos
Live frames are processed locally for preview and detection; SmileCap does not retain a continuous video recording or upload camera frames. When the smile countdown completes, the app captures a high-resolution photo and checks the marked participants again. A rejected capture is not added to Photos.
With add-only Photos permission, accepted photos are saved to the system Photos library. The app keeps a local copy of the latest saved photo for review, replacing it after the next successful save. A photo awaiting or failing to save is retained locally with a capture identifier and save-status receipt so that you can retry saving. This pending copy is removed after a successful save. These receipts do not contain face tracking values.
4. Permissions and local storage
SmileCap requests camera access and add-only Photos access. It does not read your entire photo library, use your microphone, or request location access. You can change permissions in iPhone Settings.
Camera preferences and your language choice stay on your device. SmileCap does not require an account or provide developer-hosted cloud storage. App files and system Photos may be included in Apple backups or iCloud services according to your settings; this is separate from SmileCap's on-device processing.
5. Deleting photos and app data
Delete saved pictures in the Photos app. Deleting a picture there does not remove the separate latest-photo copy inside SmileCap. Deleting the app removes its local photos and preferences from the device. Photos library copies, shared copies and backups remain separate and must be managed in the relevant app, service or backup settings.
6. Purchases, analytics and support
SmileCap Pro is an optional one-time purchase for Group mode, with no subscription or automatic renewal. Apple handles payments. StoreKit verifies purchase status and restores eligible purchases. We do not receive payment card details.
SmileCap has no advertising or cross-app tracking. ZAAMDAA Studio does not operate an in-app analytics service or collect or sell your photos or face measurements. Google MediaPipe is included for on-device analysis and is not used for advertising. Website visits are separate from app use and may be measured by the website's analytics.
If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond. Please avoid including private photos unless necessary to explain your issue.
